Visit Dunfermline

The Project

Atomised have been involved in the Visit Dunfermline project from the start - a project to build a world class website for the City of Dunfermline. We designed the brand, designed and built the first iteration of the website and crucial parts of the second. It began in 2006 when we were asked to create a brand for visitdunfermline.com. AL then came up with the logo and the brand 'It's not all black & white' tagline. Neil, with some design input from AL and content input from the 'visit' team, built the first version of the site with PHP-based content management and clever integration of AJAX technology, Thickboxes, Live Maps & Adobe Flash audio & video. The brand and site has been a huge success with very high traffic and brand recognition. The vast majority of traffic comes from searches for 'visit dunfermline' showing that the brand is well known in the area. We also designed business cards, t-shirts and stickers.

For creative reasons we chose not to be involved in the second iteration of the site although AL was called in to solve a thorny design problem - integrating the logo into a new navigation bar, a task he succeeded in. AL later designed and built the gallery section utilising Shadowbox technology.
