About Atomised
A different way to build a technology company.
Atomised is a workers' co-operative: a technology company owned, in equal shares, by the people who work in it. We've built software this way since 2008, and UK rail retailing technology since 2018.
Who we are.
We're a small team of engineers in Scotland who design, build and operate rail retailing systems: journey planning, fares, split ticketing, accredited ticket issuing, fulfilment, aftersales and settlement. We run our own National Rail accredited retail site, traintickets.com, and supply the same platform to partners — including Rail Europe, whose entire UK rail offer has run on our systems for eight years, and Distribusion, the global ground-transport network we supply with UK rail.
There are three of us, and we own the company together. All three of us are developers first — in a three-person company, the job titles simply mark the extra gaps each of us fills.

What "workers' co-operative" means for partners.
It isn't a branding choice — it changes how working with us feels in practice.
You deal with the owners.
The person answering your integration question wrote the endpoint, and owns an equal share of the company that stands behind it. There is no account layer, no offshore delivery team, no "I'll check with engineering."
Decisions are quick.
Three owner-engineers around one (virtual) table can say yes, no, or "here's a better way" in a day — not a procurement cycle.
Incentives are aligned long-term.
Nobody here is polishing the company for sale or chasing a quarterly number. The business model is simple: build things that work, for partners who stay. Our longest partnerships span well over a decade.
We eat our own cooking.
traintickets.com isn't a demo — it's our own accredited retail business, run on exactly the platform we supply. Every improvement we ship to partners, we shipped to ourselves first.
From 2008 to here.
Atomised was founded in 2008 as a co-operative software company. In 2018 we entered UK rail, becoming a National Rail accredited retailer and launching traintickets.com, with FairSplits split ticketing at its heart.
Since then the platform has grown into everything UK rail retailing requires — and into the systems behind some of the largest names in international rail retail. In 2026 we became an approved BritRail retailer, bringing independent, modern fulfilment to a product line that had not seen a new entrant in over a decade.
Small team, serious infrastructure.
Being three people with significant infrastructure makes us deliberate: we automate relentlessly, build cloud-native and self-healing, and say no to work we can't do properly. Partners get the responsiveness of a small team and the reliability of a platform that's been carrying real retail volume for years — and when we say a feature will ship, the person saying it is the person shipping it.
Work with us.
Whether you're exploring the API, the white-label store or BritRail retailing — start with a conversation.
